Memorial Day Weekend at Memory Lanes Block Party

The annual Memory Lanes Block Party is this weekend!  We’ll be performing along side some of our favorite Minneapolis bands including Southside Desire, GRRRL PRTY, Black Market Brass and many more.

Here’s a photo of us at MLBP last year, shortly after David Tullis (drums) joined the band.  We’ve all got significantly longer hair now.  And the band as a whole is kicking more ass than ever, if we do say so ourselves.

We’ll be capping the night off inside at 10:30p with Grolar Bears immediately following us.  We hope you’ll come on in and enjoy yourselves with us.  The event is free and worth every penny.  Come eat, drink and be merry!

Help Get ‘Unbroke’ Video in Rotation on mtvU!

WE’RE BEING PLAYED ON MTVU! DEAR GOD! But it doesn’t stop there.

We need your help.

We’re part of the Freshmen 5, a weekly competition that pits 5 bands against one another for a chance at regular rotation on the station. That would be absolutely huge for us, and would most certainly make us cry.

That’s the link. Vote hard. Vote very hard. Share this post. Get your friends involved.  We’ve never wanted anything more.  We love you all and will kiss you.  It will happen.

The Local Show Hosts Black Diet on 4/27!

Black Diet at The Current Studios
Black Diet at The Current Studios

One of our most favorite DJs at The Current, Dave Campbell, asked us to play a few songs and answer a few questions for him on his weekly, Minnesota focused radio spot, The Local Show!  Performing in that studio was like a dream come true for us.  We even got to sneak off and smoke our cigarettes on a patio above Downtown St. Paul. This may sound trivial, but it made us feel special.  So, there you go.

Tonight, tune in to 89.3 The Current‘s The Local Show at 6pm!  We’re playing songs from our recently released debut album, Find Your Tambourine and one brand new song never before heard on the radio!

Make sure to grab your tickets to our next show at New Century Theater for the May 2nd edition of New Century Sessions with Communist Daughter!  We’ll be playing “Do A Little Wrong”, “State Line” and other new songs!  Our plan is to bring you an ENTIRELY NEW SET!  This will not be a show to miss!

New Video for “Unbroke” Released

Monday, we released our most recent video, “Unbroke.”  This video is a direct result of being in the same room together for 14 straight hours.  Eating, drinking, dancing and having a generally great time together.

It was included on this week’s Local Frames;  a weekly column from City Pages blogger, Erik Thompson, spotlighting the best new music videos featuring musicians and directors with Minnesota ties.
