Como Park Zoo & Conservatory

Last week was a busy one.  Hence the grossly procrastinated Como Park post.  We rushed into town from Des Moines, having just played the incredible 80/35 Music Festival and shot an entire music video before our band videographer and drummer left the country to visit his family.  That’s right, David is half Hungarian, which is awesome.  He’s been texting us from the old world the entire time he’s been gone, which is a relief.  We miss him dearly.

Hi David, if you’re reading this!

Getting ready for the set. Waiting for the shade to cascade our way.

We arrived to see that our friend Brian Engel, DJ and founder of Hipshaker Minneapolis would be spinning some vinyl between our sets.  He even took the time to sell our merch when the need arose.  This, of course, instigated the conversation of him joining us on tour when we get to go out for more than a week.  He would be the perfect addition to the van.

Como crowd
The pretty Como crowd.

After the set, which involved many children running around with our mini tambourines (which is always charming), we packed up and made a point to party in St. Paul.  Most of our gigs are in Minneapolis, so this is quite a rare occurrence.  Brian showed us the way.

Mitch and Brian in their element.

A huge thanks to Como Park Zoo & Conservatory and the City of St. Paul for asking us to join this series of free outdoor concerts.  We had a blast!
